CONSIDER THIS...
Tell me this. If my father was the Grand Dragon of the Klu Klux Klan and I produced albums, using KKK imagery, lyrics subtleing promoting racism and violence, wore KKK clothing (white pointy hats, robes, etc), and all my posters, videos, products had KKK imagery....
Given that, if I was accused of supporting or promoting the KKK through my art by another artist of my racial/ethnic background....
If I responded by saying, "I do not promote racism or violence. My art is the voice of a victim of racism," how do you think the American public would respond?
Think about this...if just after 9-11, an artist emerged wearing Osama Bin Laden attire and rapped about bombing the World Trade Center, how do you think the public would have responded?
To me, the bottom line is this. Terrorism is wrong. It destroys humanity and robs human beings of a life they deserve to have. War is wrong and never fair. Both sides of that war are wrong. Peace is the only answer.
But, MIA's lyrics promote violence. She personifies a suicide bomber. She wears all the attire (including her shoes) promoting the LTTE with the tiger stripes. She uses that terrorist group's mascot in her visual art, as well as her videos. Her lyrics do not promote peace. They promote destruction, murder, bombings, and slavery.
To me, that is WRONG.
The problem is, Sri Lanka is a tiny little island far away. The issues there are so removed from us that they cannot possibly seem real. So, instead of calling it for what it is, we JUSTIFY her art.
Yet, we would never do that, if it were happening on our own home territory.
DeLon and Ceylon Records stand for peace. DeLon has spent many years funding non-profits in Sri Lanka, building homes for tsunami victims, helping those who are maimed from war, and speaking out against child soldiers. He is not someone who is just rapping. He actually DOES something about it through is tangible actions. This movement is to raise awareness about the situation in Sri Lanka, educate the youth about the destruction of war, and promote peace. It's about making us think twice before we buy a CD that is built from the blood of innocent women, children, and civilians who die every day. It's about thinking twice before we unknowingly support something that ultimately destroys humanity.
This is a lot bigger than DeLon or MIA. It's bigger than even Sri Lanka. It's about global peace, awareness, and real actions to help each other.
Thank you for your message. I hope this sheds some light on where we are coming from.
Wishing you happiness and peace,
CR Staff

Bro DeLon
Your efforts are much appreciated and admired. Adversity will be your companion when you take on organized terrorism with many supporters in many and powerful places, but it is definitely awesome to see a youngster like you not only rising to the challenge, but beating it at its own game.
Cheers!!
Keep 'em coming!
DeLon,
You are a real Lion taking terrorists by its very roots.
LTTE is the world's most ruthless, most cunning, and most organized terrorist organization.
Because of the leniency of foreign governments towards LTTE, the whole Sri Lanka is suffering for three decades.
Weldone boy, keep up your good work.
Mother Lanka needs people like you in millions in this critical hour.
Brother so wonderful, we all appreciated and wish u success in this career.
Really I proud to be having a such brother like u to my mother land,
Ur a great hero to Sri Lanka.
Cheers
